Pennsbury recognizes students, staff and 'Heart Safe' designation for district

The Pennsbury Board of School Directors recognized student winners of this month’s Lift Character Awards and acknowledged district staff for achieving a Heart Safe School District designation.
Board members and administrators presented Lift Awards to students across elementary and middle schools for attributes such as cooperation and safety; named honorees included Vishwash Ram (fifth grade, Folsom Elementary) and several other students recognized for leadership and safety practices. The board applauded the student honorees.
District administrators also recognized the work of school nurses and the Medical Emergency Response (MER) teams for certifying every school building as a Heart Safe School. Dr. Bloom said more than 122 staff members volunteered for MER teams and that staff requested more CPR training and drills; administrators described continued growth in emergency preparedness and professional development.
The recognitions underscored the district’s emphasis on student character, safety and staff training.
