Piedmont board approves 2026–27 boundary realignment; small Visaya addition included

The Piedmont School Board unanimously approved boundary changes for the 2026–27 intermediate and elementary realignment, including adding a small housing area (referred to in meeting materials as Visaya) into Stone Ridge Elementary and Stone Ridge Intermediate boundaries.
Staff described the boundary work as part of preparing for a new elementary and a new intermediate campus. The consultant Zonda Group modeled 10‑year enrollment projections and found that, while growth matters locally, the small Visaya addition (estimated 18–25 homes) would have minimal impact on districtwide planning; in some years the adjustment slightly lowers PI numbers, staff said.
Neil Cass moved to approve the boundary and map adjustments, Matt Nelson seconded, and votes were recorded as yes from Matt Nelson, Derek Jones, Neil Cass, Jared Moer and Lane Jones.
Board members emphasized the need to plan for future capacity and transportation (including additional buses) as new housing develops.
