Sheriff Keith Davis told the Wayne County Board of Supervisors on Aug. 6 that he plans to build a new structure north of the sheriff's office after obtaining a zoning change from the City of Corydon. The Lockridge design includes a wash bay; Lockridge provided a materials quote of $43,624.08.
Davis presented two quotes for pouring a 40‑by‑64‑by‑6‑inch concrete slab and erecting the building: Onstot Construction quoted $46,450 and JC Curry Construction quoted $79,066.18. Davis said three local electrical contractors also submitted quotes and that Onstot is expected to begin work in about a month if selected. The board did not take a formal vote to award the building contract during the meeting.
