Lampasas City Council on March 9 approved routine consent items, declared a 2008 utility golf cart surplus, awarded a small procurement for sports-complex gates, and announced a closed executive session.
Council approved corrections to the minutes and the consent agenda. Staff proposed declaring a 2008 utility golf cart surplus due to repair costs; council moved and approved the declaration to allow staff to dispose of the asset in accordance with state law.
Council also approved awarding a bid to Quality Landscape to install two gates at the 580 Sports Complex for $7,171. Staff said the work is funded from a 2016 CO issue account and that there was a remaining balance in the fund sufficient to cover the work. The gates bid was moved, seconded and approved.
Staff reviewed the city's annual events calendar, noting two changes (one cancellation and an October Fest in development) and that events involving parks will be brought to the parks board as needed. The council then announced it would meet in executive session under Texas Government Code Chapter 551 to discuss economic development negotiations, attorney consultation about contemplated settlements, and personnel matters.
No substantive executive-session outcomes were reported in open session at the end of the workshop.
