Tyler ISD trustees approve contract renewals, waive one staff make-up day and clear consent items
Summary

At its March meeting, the Tyler ISD Board of Trustees approved several personnel and consent items following executive session and regular business.
Motions carried to renew one-year administrative professional contracts and renew non-certified administrative professional contracts consistent with the administration's recommendations. The audit committee recommendation to approve a renewal was also adopted.
On the business/legal/finance consent agenda, the board approved items A through K except item D, which trustees pulled for discussion. After discussion, the board approved a resolution regarding wage payments during an emergency school closing due to inclement weather and the motion carried. Board members discussed calendar makeup days and agreed the resolution would spare staff an additional required work day in this instance.
The curriculum and instruction consent agenda passed for items B, C, D, E, F and I, with G approved separately (authorizing the superintendent to execute a curriculum partnership agreement) and H tabled for later consideration.
What happens next: Administration will publish the adopted items (including the Bolter ADSY calendar) and provide the board with follow-up information on personnel renewals and the curriculum agreement once final documents are in hand.
