Brookshire council accepts displacement (shelter) program and leadership plan

Alderwoman Vaughn introduced the program leadership and documentation; the plan names Chief Holly Green for program oversight, Lieutenant Phillips for program coordination and Dr. Lee Nelson Jones as community partnership lead, with a three‑ and six‑month evaluation schedule and monthly meetings scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month at the police department.[1]
Program materials in the council packet included policy and procedures, participation agreements and a shelter placement intake form. Council members thanked volunteers and staff for developing the program and voted to accept it as presented. Staff noted the program excludes cases primarily driven by mental‑illness or active substance misuse and instead targets displacement situations meeting the eligibility criteria in the packet.
