Sunbury โ The Sunbury City Council on April 1 approved several land-use measures tied to the Kintner Crossing development, including an expansion of the Sunbury New Community Authority District and the final commercial plat for Kintner Crossing.
Council adopted Resolution 2026.06 to expand the community authority district to encompass Kintner Crossing Phase 1; the measure passed by roll call with seven yays. Council also removed emergency language and approved Ordinance 2026.06, the final plat for the Kintner Crossing commercial site, in a unanimous vote.
Council held second- and first-reading items on related matters: Ordinance 2026.07 (annexation petition for roughly 95.98 acres in Trenton Township owned by trustees Edger E. Weaver and Michelle L. Weaver) had emergency language removed during second reading; Ordinance 2026.08 was placed on reading only for Kintner Crossing Section 2 final plat. Council also noted an award for Little Walnut Creek Interceptor Phase 2A to Dirt Dawg Excavating LLC (reading only).
Mr. Long and planning staff summarized recent zoning work, including the Kitner Crossing Phase 2 final plat approval and a preliminary residential proposal (formerly called Miller Farms) near Big Walnut Elementary. Council members said they are considering larger venues to accommodate public comment for high-attendance zoning hearings.
Next steps: items in first or second reading will return for future votes as required by council procedure.
