The Lamar City Council on March 17 reviewed plans and an engineer’s estimate of about $1.36 million for airport apron and taxiway reconstruction prepared by Molton Mink, and set the public‑hearing and procurement schedule. Council set an April 7 public hearing, with bids due April 14, award targeted April 21, and a construction window from fall 2026 to summer 2027.
Administration told the council the majority of the project will be funded through federal and state grants and that grant agreements will come before the council at a later date. The schedule requires timely bid solicitation and grant‑award coordination so the city can award and mobilize for fall 2026 construction.
Council did not take immediate action to award the project but established the hearing and bid timeline to advance procurement. Staff will return with grant agreements and contract documents at future meetings.
