Glenwood board unanimously approves new middle/high principal and several staff hires

Olsen described an extensive selection process that began with a January posting, a staff listening session, a screening rubric applied by staff and administration, student-led tours and two rounds of interviews. "We came to the conclusion after this process that Josh fits exactly what we're looking for," Olsen said, citing the candidate's experience, relationship-centered leadership and strengths in accountability, discipline systems and transparent communication.
Olsen said the district screened roughly 12 applicants, narrowing that pool to nine after removing three candidates (two with current investigations and one who had not been renewed). The interview team of about 18 staff members brought two finalists back for a second interview, and Olsen said the team unanimously ranked Fisizel first. "We are recommending that we offer the position to Mr. Fisizel, which we have offered, and he accepted," Olsen said.
A motion to approve Fisizel as the middle/high school principal was made by board member Jody and seconded; the board conducted a roll-call vote and approved the hire.
