Board holds second reading of revised Policy 208 and hears committee report

Executive director Shannon Evenson presented a second reading of proposed revisions to Board Policy 208 to reduce the number of policies reviewed annually and to remove a previous amendment mechanism in favor of following MSBA updates, statute changes, or internal review cycles; committee chair Diana Fenton reported the immersion update and an upcoming NEPPC letter.
At the meeting Shannon Evenson, executive director of community education and community partnerships, presented a second reading of proposed revisions to Board Policy 208 (development, adoption and implementation of policies). Evenson said the revisions reduce the number of policies required for annual review to three and remove a named amendment mechanism so that updates will follow Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA) updates, statute changes or the district’s internal review cycle.
Committee chair Diana Fenton reported the achievement, integration and equity committee met earlier and heard the immersion presentation that evening; she said the committee also reviewed a draft NEPPC letter that the board will sign at a future meeting and that a preview copy will be circulated to board members.
The meeting then moved through future agenda items and concluded with a motion to adjourn, moved by Natalie and seconded by Heather; the chair called for the vote and declared the meeting adjourned at 7:42 p.m.
