Phoenixville Borough Council on March 10 reappointed two incumbents to the Planning Commission and two members to the Human Relations Commission and tabled action on multiple Recreation Board applicants.
Tom Carnival, an architect and longtime borough resident, and Joe Sakura (incumbent) were reappointed to the Planning Commission by motions and roll call votes. Councilmembers noted Carnival’s architectural experience on Bridge Street projects and Sakura’s integration of community and technology into planning work.
Kevin Zwick and Jasmine Joiner were reappointed to three‑year terms on the Human Relations Commission. Joiner said she has been involved with HRC work since her initial appointment and cited priorities including inclusivity and community engagement.
Council tabled the Recreation Board appointments to allow additional applicants to appear at the next meeting. The borough encouraged residents to apply for board and commission openings and reminded the public of a rolling volunteer calendar on the borough website.
