Mount Holly council continues Holly Heights rezoning and Gryce-Stewart annexation to April 13

The Mount Holly City Council on March 9 opened public hearings on two land-use matters and then voted to continue both to allow additional review.
The council first opened the rezoning public hearing for case R261, a proposal to rezone several parcels to Conditional District Multi-Family (CD MF) for the Holly Heights townhome development. After discussion, Councilmember Harris moved and Councilmember Shoemaker seconded a motion to continue the hearing to April 13, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. so the planning commission could complete further review; the motion passed.
The council then opened an annexation petition filed by Alyssa Gryce and William Stewart for a 34.35-acre tract (parcel numbers read into the record) and likewise voted to continue that hearing to the April 13 council meeting at 7:00 p.m. No substantive votes on rezoning or annexation were taken on March 9; council members said the continuances would allow the public and planning commission additional time to review materials and speak at the continued hearings.
Both items are scheduled to return to the council agenda on April 13, 2026, when the council may take public comment and consider action.
