The Mount Holly City Council approved its agenda and consent items at a work session on March 23, 2026, and announced the appointment of Ashley Wetstein as the city’s new finance director.
Mayor called the meeting to order and led an invocation and the pledge of allegiance, which was led by Councilwoman Shoemaker. The council added a closed‑session item to the agenda and, after a motion by Mr. Reeves with a second from Miss Shoemaker, approved the amended agenda.
Council then approved the consent agenda on a motion by Mr. Meadows and a second by Mr. Craig. The consent items included the appointment of Ashley Wetstein as finance director; Blandon noted Wetstein “started with us full‑time today.”
Manager Jonathan Bland highlighted several upcoming community events, including a ribbon cutting for Zamora Orthodontics, a toddler egg hunt at Tuck Park and the Chalk the Walk festival April 11 at Linear Park. Bland also referenced a recent successful police‑department leasing project as an example for other city procurement discussions.
The meeting proceeded to presentations and public hearings; council later recessed into a closed session for attorney‑client and contract negotiations.
The council did not vote on any additional contracts during the open meeting; further action on agenda items will return to public session as required.
