Miss Mary's community garden to hold grand opening June 27; village lists spring events

Wagner asked council to help publicize volunteer needs and provide a contact point with the clerk's office and recreation department.
Council members and staff described additional community events: a villagewide yard sale on April 11 (participation will be free; the usual $5 private‑sale fee waived), a spring cleanup April 20–25 with curbside pickup of heavy items, and a walking club beginning April 30 and recurring in May and June. Staff said they will work with the marketing/publicity contact (Cathy Higgins) and the clerk to advertise events on the village website and by an all‑call notification.
Next steps: Recreation staff will compile volunteer lists and event details for publication; gardening organizers will provide an assembly list to the clerk so volunteers can be mobilized.
