Councilors and staff discussed past arrangements in which volunteer stewards and routine police patrols covered events, and noted that some prior events paid for security when needed. Management said they would amend the request to clarify whether YEAA would contribute to security costs and the administration recommended tabling the item until a security plan and cost estimate could be returned to the council.
A motion to table the request passed on recorded roll call, and the council directed management and public safety to report back with details before issuing a final permit.
