Yeadon council approves labor contracts, ordinances and routine finance items

Yeadon Borough Council approved multiple administrative and policy items at its March legislative meeting, including labor agreements with municipal unions, three local ordinances, and routine finance measures.
The council voted to enter a 10‑year agreement with the Delaware County Bureau of Elections to continue the borough election dropbox. The borough also approved a collective bargaining agreement with SEIU Local 32BJ effective Jan. 1, 2026 through Dec. 31, 2030 and approved a collective bargaining agreement with Delaware County Lodge No. 27 of the Fraternal Order of Police (as read into the record).
Councilors adopted three ordinances after the solicitor confirmed proper advertising and availability for public comment: Ordinance 2026‑004 (commercial use and occupancy inspection), Ordinance 2026‑006 (amending Section 235‑6 D, inspection for rental units) and Ordinance 2026‑007 (key lock box system). Each ordinance was approved on recorded roll‑call votes.
Finance items also passed. The council approved the March 2026 accounts payable list and the February 2026 cash‑balance reporting; the finance director said liquid fuels auditors were on site and that the audit was proceeding.
Resolutions adopted included Resolution 2026‑00008 (implementing fee and procedure provisions under Act 22 of 2017 for law‑enforcement audio/video recording requests) and a traffic‑calming policy resolution (2026‑009).
Several routine housekeeping votes also passed: the council approved meeting minutes from Feb. 12 and Feb. 19, 2026, and adopted a county aid resolution necessary for applying for liquid fuels (roadwork) funds.
Not every request passed: a motion to authorize borough management to order electronic devices for Councilor Tia Jones Waters failed after discussion (see separate coverage), and the council tabled a request by the Yeadon Education Athletic Association to use Community Park for youth baseball until security and fee responsibilities are clarified.
