District moves team communications to Huddle and reports spring sports participation

Mr. Doucet updated the board on athletics operations at the March 25 meeting, reporting competitive successes, participation numbers and changes to team communications.
He said winter teams had strong seasons (boys basketball reached the section playoffs; individual athletes advanced in swimming and wrestling) and that spring registration shows 150 student‑athletes. Mr. Doucet described adjustments to the registration and communications workflow: rosters are finalized before Huddle codes and links are issued so only students who make a team receive access. He said the district added visible banners to the registration pages to reduce confusion when parents did not click 'save and continue.'
Mr. Doucet thanked technology staff for fixing remaining registration issues and credited Burke Catholic for hosting girls varsity lacrosse and rowing shadow programs; Stewart will also supply additional athletes for track, expanding participation. He announced two parent events: a parent athletic advisory panel April 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the makerspace and a 'meet the coaches' night April 7.
Separately, Mr. Schwartz reported the MTSS platform is ready for next year, custom data dashboards are in development, and Maple Avenue servers, cameras and door access programming have been completed.
No formal board action was taken on athletics items during the meeting.
