Posota charter operator proposes alternate transportation plan; district to survey parents

At the recap of the March 10 Charles County Board of Education meeting, Posota’s operator, Ms. Jackson, presented proposed charter amendments centered on an alternate transportation plan.
District officials told the board that Charles County Public Schools already supplements Posota’s transportation funding by more than 50%, and board members expressed concern that unreliable transportation could reduce student enrollment at the charter.
The board agreed to the superintendent’s request to survey Posota parents and to sample families on the wait list to determine transportation needs. Posota is expected to return to the board with survey results at the April meeting.
No formal change to Posota’s charter or district funding was approved during the recap; the item was set for follow‑up once survey results are submitted.
