The Washoe County Planning Commission approved an amendment of conditions for Silverado Village at Eagle Canyon (case WAC26‑0003) to redesignate a 0.81‑acre parcel from common open space to common area to accommodate a private roadway connection between subdivision phases, as well as related tentative‑map adjustments.
Planner Tim Evans summarized the history of approvals for the project and said the requested change would reduce total common open space on the 21.56‑acre site from 10.42 acres to 9.61 acres. He noted Washoe County Development Code restricts public or private vehicular streets in areas designated as common open space, which is why the parcel’s designation is changing to common area. The application included noticing to parcels within 500 feet (45 notices) and staff reported no emails or phone calls were received from that noticing.
Mike Evans, representing Silverado Homes, confirmed the roadway would be private and would allow the different phases to function as a single community while continuing to be maintained privately. Commissioners moved, seconded and carried motions approving the special use permit and the related tentative subdivision amendment with conditions shown in Exhibit A. The approvals were recorded on the meeting record and are subject to the standard appeal process.
