He noted that the city’s safety planning for parades and events considered vehicle barrier placement and controlled access points, and that open access zones south of Second Street are harder to secure without additional resources.
Council did not vote on a donation. Members directed staff to wait for a formal county executive or county board request and for clearer details on how the funds would be used and to continue discussions about partnership and project timelines.
