Village staff presented the 2026 MS4 (municipal separate storm sewer system) annual report, which documents the village’s stormwater management activities and the calculations used to estimate total suspended solids (TSS) leaving the system.
Staff described the report as a comprehensive (roughly 160-page) submission to the state Department of Natural Resources that accounts for catch-basin cleanings, street sweeping, leaf pickup and other actions that reduce nutrients entering local waterways. Presenter said the calculations are used to quantify credits that count against the village’s permitted nutrient loads and that the village is within its TSS limits.
When asked whether anything surprising was found, the presenter said no. Staff said the report includes tonnage figures for material removed from catch basins and other quantified activities that feed into the DNR’s permit calculations.
No action was required; the presentation was received and no compliance concerns were reported.
