Planner Nick told commissioners that there were no site plans scheduled for March 24 and that staff was preparing memos and drafts for upcoming topics: “there's not going to be anything substantive to present to you on the 24th,” he said, adding staff would circulate supporting documents when they are ready. Several commissioners urged retaining the meeting to use the time for educational conversation and to demonstrate continuity to the public and developers.
After motions and counter-motions about retaining or cancelling the scheduled meeting, the commission voted to cancel the March 24 meeting by roll call, five members voting yes and four voting no. Commissioners noted the chair retains the ability to call a special meeting or reconvene the date if an urgent agenda item (for example a site plan) arises before the posted cancellation takes effect.
Next steps: staff will post a cancellation notice as required and continue preparing the April stormwater materials; if a substantive agenda item appears by the cancellation-notice deadline, the meeting could be retained or reconvened.
