Mike Cantani, representing St. Charles Parish and residing at the same address, described the fence as decorative with a 1 1/8‑inch cap designed to reduce climb‑injuries and protect the parish play area and a nearby natural classroom from trespass. Cantani told the board the parish plans to begin work when weather permits and expect completion by the end of summer after the school year.
Trustee and staff members noted the plan commission had unanimously recommended approval. The board moved, seconded and carried final approval without opposition.
The parish and board also exchanged thanks for cooperation around parade logistics and the upcoming hometown celebration.
