Polk board unanimously renews three charter schools and approves next-year enrollment capacity

Board member Fields moved and Board member Wyatt seconded approval of a five-year renewal for BridgePrep Academy of Polk; Fields said two previously raised concerns had been addressed and she felt comfortable supporting the renewal.
The board then approved a 10-year renewal for Mi Escuela Montessori. Board member Wallace congratulated Kelly De La Cruz and staff, and noted the school's growth and a new facility project in North Bartow.
Board member Keys moved to approve a 15-year renewal for Victory Ridge Academy; Keys praised the school’s work serving students with special needs and noted the organization’s sound financial position. The board also approved the district’s charter school annual enrollment capacity for 2026–27.
All charter renewals and the enrollment-capacity motion passed on unanimous voice votes. Board members said their approvals reflected the responses and materials submitted by the schools and the district's review process. There was no recorded roll-call tally in the minutes; each motion was accepted by voice vote.
