Pasadena ISD celebrates All-State musicians, Houston Rodeo art auction winners and regional spelling-bee champion

The Pasadena ISD Board of Trustees on March 24 publicly recognized student accomplishments in arts and academics.
Michael Holt and other fine-arts staff introduced 10 students who earned places in the Texas All-State ensembles this year and read biographical highlights for each, noting colleges and music honors. The board thanked directors, teachers and families for supporting fine-arts programs.
Gabriel Flores, assistant director of fine arts, reported that Pasadena ISD students placed in the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo art auction, including a grand-champion piece that sold for $525,000. The presentation named several high-school winners and noted that 18 students participated in the live auction.
The board also celebrated the district27s Spanish spelling bee results. A student from Miller Intermediate won the Region 4 Spanish spelling bee and will represent Pasadena ISD at the state competition in El Paso on June 4. Coaches, principals and parents were recognized for their roles in student success.
Trustees used the recognition portion of the meeting to highlight district achievements in fine arts and academics and to thank staff and community partners.
