The Palo Alto Parks & Recreation Commission voted March 24 to recommend the City Council adopt the Cubberly conceptual master plan, after a staff presentation of poll results, a phased site concept and environmental review documents.
Amanda Demel, assistant director for community services, told commissioners the plan is a phased, flexible framework intended to guide future redevelopment of the Cubberly campus. "Phase one includes a mix of new and renovated facilities, including a recreation and wellness center, a performing arts complex, and flexible spaces for education and visual arts to meet evolving community needs," Demel said during the presentation.
