The commission discussed converting previously used standing subcommittees into ad hoc committees for time-limited tasks (for example, contributing to the multimodal plan or organizing a large community event). Commissioners asked that participation be framed as "participate in volunteer-driven park improvement projects" rather than making the commission responsible for organizing them.
Members also suggested a short, topical segment in regular meetings tied to the commission’s three primary goals (community engagement and awareness; park improvement and development; and promoting recreation opportunities) so commissioners can report back on site visits or community engagement without creating formal delegated authority. Staff (Natasha) said she will revise the work plan and return it for final approval in February.
