Milford schools highlight student art, Pattison playground project and middle‑school wins

The presenter reviewed highlights from the first year in the new middle‑school building: addition of sixth grade, robotics teams (four teams qualifying for world‑level competition in St. Louis), JROTC startup with roughly 70 starters, 8 eighth‑graders making varsity teams and several all‑region honors, and plans tied to band and performing arts opportunities. The presenter said some students will travel for competitions and that the school has seen improved PBIS and academic indicators, although specific metrics were not read into the record.
Mr. Kaufman told the board that the board will be asked later in the evening to approve Jacob Carpenter as the new director of bands; Kaufman noted the candidate's prior accomplishments and that he is a Milford graduate.
