Irene Rero, the staff presenter, said the applicant (APC Towers, represented in the meeting packet by Jeremy Seagull) filed to increase a previously approved 160‑foot tower by 25 feet to bring the facility to 185 feet to improve coverage and allow future collocation of additional carriers. Rero described the 50x50 enclosed lease area, an 8‑foot fence and screening, a 10‑foot access easement from National Old Trails Highway and conditions addressing lighting, site maintenance and security. She said the project must also comply with FCC and FAA regulations.
Applicant representative Vance Palroy spoke in support of the project and told council the design will enhance coverage and support future tenants while minimizing aesthetic impact. Council members asked technical and siting questions; no substantive amendments to the staff recommendation were made.
A roll‑call vote adopted the resolution approving the conditional use permit. Council directed the project to meet the stated conditions of approval, including adherence to federal safety rules and lighting requirements. The resolution requires the applicant to follow the city’s conditions of approval and applicable FCC/FAA standards.
