The Needles City Council appointed Mr. Keith Jones to fill a vacancy on the Public Utilities/Port Authority board, approving the appointment by roll call during the June 10 meeting.
Mr. Jones, a 50-year Needles resident and retired railroad engineer, told council he understands the city’s ownership of local water and power utilities and said he wants to contribute to maintaining infrastructure and reserves. Staff noted Mr. Jones has local volunteer experience, including service on parks and recreation boards and as a youth sports coach.
Council moved to appoint Mr. Jones; the motion passed with affirmative votes from Council member Mccorco, Mayor Jourian, Council member Pog, Council member Belt, Council member Longre and Vice Mayor Ellen Campbell (remote).
