The Montclair City Council on Nov. 8 voted unanimously to continue the first reading of an agenda item to the Dec. 1 city council meeting and adopted the consent calendar as presented.
Council Member Dan Lopez moved to continue the first reading; Council Member Bill Rue seconded and the motion passed 5-0. No members of the public spoke on the public‑hearing item before the council closed the hearing and approved the continuation. Later the council took up the consent calendar, which no council member pulled; the council adopted the calendar on a 5-0 vote (moved by Lopez and seconded by Rue).
The staff report noted the item had been placed on a prior agenda and staff requested the continuance to allow additional time for review; no new substantive debate occurred on the floor. The council indicated the matter will return at the Dec. 1 meeting for the first reading as scheduled. The public hearing record was closed for this evening.
