He outlined several priorities, including strengthening the Grass Valley–Nevada City Cultural District (one of 14 designated in the state), a regional marketing strategy, and a program called Culture Forward that aims to develop career pathways for local artists.
Commissioners and council staff discussed ways to amplify calls for artists and integrate the Arts Council’s cultural asset maps, event calendars and call-for-artist listings with the commission’s outreach. Winters invited commissioners to use his office as a communications resource and to share programming details for distribution.
No funding or formal interagency agreements were adopted at the meeting; the discussion was informational and focused on coordination and outreach.
