South Yuba River Almanac seeks submissions; deadline moved to Nov. 1

Lurch provided contact information for submissions and stated the best contact is the project’s Gmail account (yubariveralmanac@gmail.com). He told commissioners the submission deadline has been moved to Nov. 1 and asked the commission to help spread the word to local artists and writers.
Commissioners asked about inspiration and funding; Lurch said the project grew from a desire to ‘‘evoke the spirit of the place’’ and cited comparable regional almanac projects as models. He said there was no active fundraiser noted at the meeting but asked for submissions and local connections.
No formal action or funding request to the commission was recorded during the presentation; the organizers requested community submissions and offered contact details for follow-up.
