San Dimas manager outlines roof project, sewer work, new website AI chat and CERT trainings

The San Dimas city manager provided several operational and service updates during the Aug. 22 meeting.
The city hall roof replacement is scheduled for Sept. 15 through Oct. 17 and is not expected to disrupt scheduled meetings, though nearby parking spaces may be temporarily unavailable. The Los Angeles County Sanitation District will rehabilitate an existing sewer line across portions of San Dimas and La Verne, covering approximately 18,000 square feet from Valley Center Avenue east along San Dimas Avenue to Sedalia Avenue; the manager gave the LACSD contact phone number and website for more information.
A redesigned city website and a new AI chat feature are due to launch Aug. 29; staff will monitor and refine the chatbot's responses. Registration opened for a new Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training program with an orientation on Oct. 5 at the senior center and evening sessions thereafter. The city also reminded residents that city offices will be closed Sept. 1 for Labor Day.
The city manager said staff will post project details and contacts on the city website and reminded residents to check the site for updates.
