Separately, staff requested authorization to purchase Chromebooks through DHE Computer Systems for an amount not to exceed $135,474. The presenter explained computer prices have fluctuated rapidly and that the district budgeted an amount and will purchase as many units as the funds allow at prevailing prices.
Both motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote with no recorded dissents (minutes show 'Motion passes 70' for each item). Staff said the Chromebook buy is a recurring budgeted purchase to replace damaged or outdated devices and to support growth at certain campuses.
The board did not vote on vendor installation contracts at the meeting; staff will return or execute installation agreements according to procurement procedures.
