Port Jervis council authorizes tax-lien sale, approves grant administration and several contracts

Separately, the council approved a resolution authorizing the Port Jervis Community Development Agency (CDA) to provide administrative services for a New York State Housing Trust Fund/Office of Community Renewal Community Development Block Grant related to water filtration plant improvements (project referenced as 938PW123-24). Council members approved a professional services contract totaling $15,000 between the city and the CDA, retroactive to Nov. 25, 2024, to cover administration and monitoring of the grant; the council voted to carry the motion and directed the mayor or his designee to execute documents subject to review by corporation counsel.
Council members also approved the mayor’s authorization to execute an agreement with Orange County to accept 2026 county youth borough grant funding to operate the Port Jervis Youth Center, contingent on standard county agreement terms and corporation counsel review.
