The Socorro City Board of Adjustment at its Nov. 6 meeting elected officers, tabled a bylaws review and approved the board’s 2026 meeting calendar.
Members nominated a slate that the board approved by motion: the record includes a nomination for Miriam (recorded in multiple spellings in the transcript) for chair, Victor Espinosa for first vice chair and Aaro Caro for second vice chair; a motion to approve the slate carried. The minutes will reflect the official spellings as entered in the board roster.
On bylaws, staff reported no recommended changes and members chose to table further consideration to the next meeting to allow additional review. The board then approved the 2026 planning and zoning meeting calendar, confirming Board of Adjustment meetings will be held on the fourth Thursday of each month except November and December; the board also retained the option to call special meetings if needed.
Marian Cruz made the motion to table the bylaws item and later moved to approve the calendar and the motion to adjourn. Victor Espinosa seconded those motions; votes were recorded as carried with no nays or abstentions recorded.
The meeting adjourned at 6:35 p.m.
