On March 23, 2026, the Village of Palos Park Council ratified a four‑year collective bargaining agreement with the Metropolitan Alliance of Police, Palos Park Police Chapter No. 150, covering May 1, 2026, through April 30, 2030.
The contract, presented by Manager Bayne, sets annual wage increases of 3.5% in the first and second years and 3.25% in the third and fourth years, and includes adjustments to shift supervisor, range officer and field training officer compensation, as well as a uniform allowance and contract language updates to reflect recent state law changes. The bargaining unit’s local membership ratified the agreement prior to the council vote.
Council discussion focused on the negotiated economic terms and maintaining pay competitiveness with peer communities. No opposing motions were offered. Clerk Williams called the roll; Commissioners Patan, Wade and Polk and Mayor Milovich Walters voted yes; Commissioner Reed was absent.
The vote ratifies the agreement as negotiated; wages are scheduled to begin increasing on May 1, 2026, as described in the contract. The contract will expire on April 30, 2030.
