Twinsburg City Schools appoint Dr. Sandy Wac as next superintendent

The Twinsburg Board of Education on March 18 officially appointed Dr. Sandy Wac as the district's next superintendent, with the appointment effective Aug. 1.

President Mrs. Crawford said the selection followed a multi-step process that began with 28 applicants, included screening and interviews, and featured a full day of community and staff engagement for the two finalists, Shelley Monosino and Dr. Wac. "This was a very thoughtful and thorough process," she said, and the board "conducted final interviews" before making its choice.

Why it matters: the superintendent runs the district's day-to-day operations and shapes priorities for academics, staffing and capital projects. The board emphasized that finalists met with students, classified and certified staff, and attended a community town hall so the selection reflected community feedback.

The board highlighted the role students played in the process, with Mrs. Crawford saying students' questions were "thoughtful, insightful, and honest," and praising their contributions to the district's decision-making.
