The Greene County Redevelopment Commission opened public bids for restoration work on retention/holding ponds adjacent to a hotel and neighbor properties, then voted to take the three bids under advisement for legal and technical review and later award.
Staff announced three bids: American Excavating LLC for $15,525; Carol Excavating LLC for $9,600; and Mass Excavating LLC for $13,100. Commissioners noted that invited bidders received identical specifications and that the typical process for such procurements is to open bids in public, take them under advisement, perform a legal review and, if appropriate, return to the commission with a recommendation to award.
Chair moved that the bids be taken under advisement pending review; the motion carried by voice vote. Staff said the documents will be collected and processed for later action.
Commissioners did not award the contract at the meeting and indicated they would announce any award at a later date after required reviews were completed.
