Scurry County court hears positive outside audit, recognizes Walk Across Texas and proclaims Child Abuse Awareness Month

Other community items approved included acceptance of two donations (senior center and library) and agreement to support a citywide cleanup scheduled for April 25 with county staff and roll-off dumpsters.
Meeting participants said the audit findings prompted staff to add missing rate lines to the county’s EMS/TDI posting and to improve transparency in financial reporting going forward. The court accepted the treasurer’s redesigned monthly report and encouraged ongoing transparency measures.
Next steps: staff will distribute the Walk Across Texas summary booklet, post the proclamation and publish updated EMS rates and financial materials noted in the audit.
