Trustees acknowledged the difficulty of the decision and thanked Sabatiki and other affected staff for their contributions.
Earlier in the meeting the treasurer/CFO reviewed financials: February investment and spending reports were presented, the general fund balance was described as roughly $9 million with forecast pressures ahead, food-service reimbursements included timing-related red figures tied to federal payment schedules, and athletics revenue from gate receipts and scoreboard advertising has improved. Trustees discussed potentially offsetting emergency-levy athletics funding if sponsorship and gate revenue continue to rise.
