Carroll County approves EMS training grant, community partnership applications and multiple service contracts

Carroll County commissioners approved a slate of grants and contracts at their April 2 meeting, including funding for emergency medical training, youth and family services, and major roadwork.
The Department of Fire and EMS sought and received approval to apply for and accept FY26 advanced life‑support (ALS) training funds from the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS). County staff said the ALS grant totals $10,445.19 and is 100% funded with no local match required; funds will reimburse paramedic continuing education delivered with Carroll Community College.
