Russ, the city’s subdivision administrator, presented proposed text amendments to Park City’s subdivision regulations on March 10. The changes would move lot-split approvals from the planning commission to an administrative staff review and update article 11 regarding appeals and plat modifications to align with other communities in Cedric County.
Russ said the amendments respond to a desire to speed routine lot-split processing and reduce planning commission workload, and noted the planning commission recommended the changes 7-0 after discussion in December and February. Council considered the ordinance (numbered in the meeting as 1235 [2026]) and approved the text amendments by roll-call vote 6-0.
Russ also described that plat modification language in article 11103D and E has been reworked so that modification provisions are consolidated to be more concurrent with other regulatory elements; staff said a related plat case would be heard next Monday at the planning commission.
The amendments take effect following normal ordinance publication procedures; the council vote concluded the item with no amendments.
