Council authorizes right-of-entry agreements for U.S. Army Corps flood-control repairs

Marshall City Council authorized staff to send right-of-entry agreements to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to permit access for flood-control repairs at two remote locations that require passage across private and township property.
City Engineer Jason Anderson said the Corps will need access through SNR Auto and the E-Free Church and will use 260th Street via Lake Marshall Township to reach another work area. He said the Corps targeted an early-April bid opening and a notice-to-proceed by the end of May, and that the city expects to close a bike trail temporarily during construction. Anderson said city attorney Pam Whitmore reviewed the agreements.
Council moved to authorize staff to proceed; Craig made the motion and Amanda seconded it. The council closed the vote and authorized staff to forward the agreements and continue coordination with property owners and the township.
What happens next: staff will transmit executed or draft agreements to the Corps, coordinate property-owner access logistics, and work with the Corps and township on construction scheduling and temporary trail closures.
