Greenville Drive leaders highlight community programs, affordability and stadium upgrades ahead of opening day

Craig Brown and Jeff Brown of the Greenville Drive updated the council on the ballclub’s community role, recent recognitions and planned facility upgrades ahead of opening day, saying the presentation was informational and did not include a formal request.

"We're not in the business of baseball. I mean, we're in the business of making memories," Craig Brown said, describing the ballpark as "the front porch of the community" and a long‑term catalyst for West End revitalization.

Brown cited a Visit Greenville economic-development study and said "for the last 10 years, not 20, but the last 10 years, the direct economic impact was $300 million." He also said about 450 new business permits had been issued within roughly a half‑mile of the ballpark since its construction.
