Board honors winter athletes, e-sports team and scholar-athlete squads

The board recognized numerous winter-season athletic accomplishments, naming individual and team achievements across bowling, track and field, gymnastics, wrestling and swimming.
Athletic Director Len Keyes introduced Carter Martin (section champion, varsity bowling), Anna Schrapawinsky (state qualifier in girls indoor track, set school records), Jonathan Radcliffe and other track qualifiers, three gymnastics qualifiers, and milestone achievements in girls and boys wrestling, where Charlie Ike was cited as the district's first section champion for girls wrestling and James Nailbone was celebrated as the boys 132-lb Section 2 Division 1 champion and Bethlehem's all-time wins leader with 144 victories.
Keyes also highlighted an undefeated boys swim regular season and the program's first sectional title since 2001, listing relay and individual school records and noting Tom Carney was named Times Union Section 2 Coach of the Year. The superintendent also congratulated the high school e-sports team for a No. 1 national ranking by USA Today and listed teams the district designated as NYSPHSAA scholar-athlete teams for having grade averages over 90.
Board members and community members applauded the recognitions; the board moved on after the acknowledgements without formal action.
