Discover Flagstaff staff announced a pro-bono pilot of a concierge-style AI itinerary-builder widget embedded on the organization’s homepage and shared early analytics that indicate strong user engagement.
A marketing staff member described the tool as a no-cost beta selected by a partner agency and said mid-December launch analytics show user intent trends: "66 was the number one motivator" in December–February, followed by outdoors and accommodations. Staff emphasized that the widget keeps outbound links on Discover Flagstaff rather than redirecting users off-site, which they said helps retain engagement.
Staff framed the pilot as a user-experience improvement intended to generate deeper on-site interactions and to help personalize recommendations for families, multi-generational trips and specialty interests. They said the widget will eventually have a commercial cost but is being piloted at no charge during the integration and analytics phase.
Commissioners praised the selection of Discover Flagstaff for the beta and asked staff to share comparative data with other known implementations when it becomes available.
