The TRUMANSBURG Central School District Board of Education accepted the resignation of Tresa Wright, a longtime support to the district’s kindergarten team, and trustees offered tributes to her decades of service.
"She has been working for the district for 25 years... She will be greatly missed," Jeanie said as colleagues recalled Wright’s classroom support and organizing work. Wright thanked the board and said she hopes to return as a volunteer after retirement: "I appreciate all of you and the wonderful staff that I've worked with. It's been a wonderful experience...and I hope to return as a volunteer at some point."
Board members also devoted time to praise the high school musical and the district's theater program. Trustees credited choreographer Dana Robson, director Hope Lewis and costume lead Stephanie Powell for extensive volunteer and student work that produced strong turnout. Board members noted the production rehearsals and related previews across buildings, with one trustee estimating more than 800 attendees across performances and about $8,000 raised for school organizations.
The board highlighted student leadership in productions, the recent viral social‑media attention to the show, and upcoming middle‑school performances. Trustees encouraged continued outreach to fill seats at future showings and acknowledged the production's role in community engagement.
The resignation vote and the public praise were followed by routine committee reports and other announcements at the end of the meeting.
