"I filed Title IX as well," the speaker said while describing audio from Feb. 5, 2025 she said captured a coach yelling at girls in a locker room and other conduct that parents and students had reported. The speaker identified herself as Asana Cook and said she works in child protection and has coached in the district.
Board members and staff advised that personnel and harassment complaints should be processed through the district's human resources office and, if incidents occurred off campus, that law enforcement may have jurisdiction. Chair Barrett and others emphasized that the board itself does not supervise school staff outside its meetings and that removal of an elected board member is legally difficult and typically resolved by voters.
The presenter said she had provided letters and audio for review and asked that the board accept the materials; staff indicated HR would receive the materials for follow‑up. The board did not take any disciplinary action during the meeting.
The meeting record shows no adjudication of the allegations; the board directed that personnel matters be handled through HR and noted jurisdictional constraints for off‑campus incidents. The public commenter requested the board make the submitted materials available to appropriate investigators and asked that the district consider procedures for addressing allegations involving elected members.
